Périgordian, a. Archæol.|peɪrɪˈgɔədɪən| Also Perigordian. [tr. F. Périgordien (D. Peyrony 1933, in Bull. Soc. Préhist. Française XXX. 558), f. the place-name Périgord (see Périgord) + -ian.] A name given to an Upper Palaeolithic culture represented by flint tools of the kind found at Laugerie-Haute in the Périgord region of Dordogne (see quot. 1938).
