chromatrope|ˈkrəʊmətrəʊp| [irreg. f. Gr. χρῶµα colour + -τροπ-ος turning.] A magic-lantern slide consisting of two superposed circular glasses, brilliantly coloured, one of which is made to rotate in front of the other.
