An individual who resembles a person affected by cretinism; (also, spec.) an individual affected by cretinism who has relatively little brain damage, or an individual who has severe hypothyroidism beginning after infancy or childhood. Now rare and chiefly historical.Cf. semi-cretin n. at semi- prefix 2d.
