Court of Audience
Court of Audience n. now historical an English ecclesiastical court under the jurisdiction of the Archbishop of Canterbury, originally held by the archbishop in person, but later chiefly by a judge appointed by him, known as an official of audience or an auditor (see auditor n. 4a).The Court of Audience was abolished in 1641 and apparently not revived after the Restoration.
