单词 allogeneic
释义

allogeneicadj.

Brit. /ˌalədʒᵻˈniːɪk/, /ˌalədʒᵻˈneɪɪk/, U.S. /ˌælədʒəˈniᵻk/, /ˌælədʒəˈneɪᵻk/
Origin: A variant or alteration of another lexical item. Etymon: allogenic adj.
Etymology: Alteration of allogenic adj. after adjectives ending in -eic, in order to avoid homophony (and therefore possible confusion) with allergenic adj. (compare quot. 1961 at main sense, and quot. 1960 at allogenic adj. 3). Compare earlier allogeneity n.
