释义 | ginger alen. A clear effervescent soft drink flavoured with ginger extract.In early use perhaps referring to an alcoholic drink. As a soft drink it is said to have been first produced by the American Thomas Cantrell in the mid 19th cent., and to have been dark, strongly-flavoured, and sweet, while pale dry ginger ale (now more common) was first patented in Canada in 1907.
