1937 Nature 27 Feb. 380/2 Charles Baker showed an ‘introscope’, an instrument for inspecting the interiors of boiler tubes, ship shaftings, oxygen bottles and aeroplane spars, etc. By means of this instrument, it is possible to illuminate and examine microscopically surfaces which cannot easily be inspected in other circumstances.
