The vice-president of the High Court of Justiciary and vice-president of the Court of Session, in the latter capacity presiding over the Second Division (one of the two appellate divisions of the Inner House of the Court of Session). Sometimes preceded by a possessive adjective (esp. my) as a form of address or reference.The Lord Justice Clerk may perform any function of the Lord President if the Lord President is incapacitated or suspended, or when the office is vacant.‘Lord’, originally prefixed as a deferential form of address or reference, became officially part of the title in 1681.
