Etymology: < Molucca (Indonesian Maluku ), the name of a group of islands (now usually called the Moluccas or the Molucca Islands ; also called the Spice Islands) in South-East Asia, now part of Indonesia. Earliest in Molucca bean n.The place name Molucca (also in form Islands of Molucca or Isles of Molucca) is attested in English from the mid 16th cent.
