Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: plastic n., -ated suffix.
Etymology: < plasti- (in plastic n.) + epenthetic -n- + -ated suffix, after plastination n. Compare later plastinate v. Compare German plastiniert.
Preserved by plastination.
