释义 | † Pulveratoresn. Ornithology. Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries. With plural agreement. A former group of birds comprising those which drive dust into the plumage and shake it out as part of feather maintenance, as gallinaceous birds, pigeons, etc. Cf. pulveratrix n. ΚΠ 1890 Cent. Dict. Pulveratores, birds which habitually roll themselves in the dust.
