Origin: Formed within English, by derivation; partly modelled on a French lexical item. Etymons: accord v., -able suffix.
Etymology: < accord v. + -able suffix, partly after Anglo-Norman acordable, Anglo-Norman and Middle French, French accordable (of a person) affable, accommodating (1164 in Old French), well-suited, suitable (13th cent.), capable of being harmonized or reconciled (1534). Compare Spanish †acordable (c1300).
