Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymons: Latin sīderāt-, sīderārī.
Etymology: < classical Latin sīderāt- past participial stem (see -ate suffix3) of sīderārī to be planet-struck < sīder- , sīdus constellation, star (see sideral adj.). Compare French sidérer (1894). Compare earlier sideration n. Compare the following earlier example of siderate , adjective (compare -ate suffix2):?1537 tr. Erasmus Declamatio Med. sig.
