Computing the last component of a domain name, which classifies the corresponding IP address by location, sphere of activity, etc.; abbreviated TLD.In the hierarchical domain name system, the top-level domain represents the second-highest level, after the unnamed domain to which all TLDs belong..com, .edu, .gov, .net, .org, and country-based top-level domain names such as .au, .in, .uk, .us, are some of the commonest in use.
