释义 | Trendelenburgn. Medicine. Used in the possessive and attributively to designate certain phenomena observed and medical procedures invented by Trendelenburg, as Trendelenburg position n. (also Trendelenburg's position) an operating position in which the patient lies supine on a tilted table or bed with the pelvis higher than the head. Trendelenburg test n. (also Trendelenburg's test) (a) a test for disorders of the hip joint or gluteus muscles in which the patient stands on one leg and raises the other, a dropping of the pelvis on the unsupported side being a positive sign ( Trendelenburg's sign); (b) a test for varicose veins in which the leg is raised to drain it of blood and then quickly lowered, immediate and rapid distention of the leg veins indicating valve incompetence.
