Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: unnock v., -ed suffix1; un- prefix1, nocked adj.
Etymology: Partly < unnock v. + -ed suffix1, and partly < un- prefix1 + nocked adj.
Of an arrow: not made ready for shooting by being fitted to a bowstring; (also occasionally) not provided with a nock at the end. Of a bow: not having an arrow fitted to the string.
