Anatomy.

Used with of and in the possessive to designate various anatomical structures described by Vater: ampulla of Vater n. the region of convergence of the pancreatic duct and the bile duct in the wall of the duodenum, which may take the form of an ampulla. Vater's corpuscle n. (also corpuscle of Vater) see corpuscle of vater at corpuscle n. 2a. papilla of Vater n. a papilla found at the end of the common bile duct, in the lumen of the duodenum.
