Ievlev, Vitalii Mikhailovich

 

Born May 15, 1926, in Briansk. Soviet thermophysicist and mechanic; corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1964). Member of the CPSU since 1955. Graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute in 1948.

Ievlev’s main works have dealt with the theory of engines, heat exchange, and the turbulent boundary layer, as well as the general theory of turbulence. He is conducting studies of the heat exchange and hydrodynamics of high-temperature gas flows and of certain properties of high-temperature mediums. In 1959, Ievlev was awarded the N. E. Zhukovskii Prize for superior work on the theory of aviation. He has received three orders.
