Nidym

a river in Evenki National Okrug, Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR, a left tributary of the Nizhniaia Tunguska River in the Enisei basin. Length, 379 km; drains an area of 14,500 sq km. The Nidym originates in the Iangil’ range and flows across the Central Siberian Plateau; its middle course is through a narrow, deep valley. Fed by snow and rain, the Nidym freezes in October and thaws in May.
