AKAP12
AKAP12
A gene on chromosome 6q24-q25 that encodes a member of the structurally diverse A-kinase anchor protein (AKAP) family, which binds to the regulatory subunits (RI/RII) of protein kinase A (PKA), confining PKA to discrete locations within the cell based on different targeting motifs. AKAP12 is expressed in endothelial cells, fibroblasts and osteosarcoma cells, associates with protein kinases A and C and phosphatase, and serves as a scaffold protein in signal transduction.Molecular pathology
AKAP12 antibodies may be produced in myasthenia gravis.
