Puktae-Bong

 

a mountain range in the Korean People’s Democratic Republic. Puktae-bong connects the North Korea and East Korea mountains, forming the main watershed of the Korean Isthmus. Puktae-bong is approximately 120 km long, with elevations that reach 1,452 m. It is made up of several massifs positioned in echelon that are composed primarily of granites and gneisses. There are coniferous and broad-leaved forests on the slopes. A railroad and highway that connect Pyongyang and Wonsan pass through Puktae-bong.
