Adashev, Daniil Fedorovich

 

Died circa 1562–63. Russian military leader and brother of A. F. Adashev.

Adashev was given a court title, okol’nichii, in February 1559. He took part in the Kazan campaign and the Livonian war of 1558–83. He was the chief voevoda (military commander) of the troops sent to the Crimea from February to September 1559; in 1560 he was artillery commander in Livonia. Both he and his brother fell into disfavor in 1560. He was executed with his young son and other relatives.
