emanometry

[‚em·ə′näm·ə·trē] (nucleonics) The collective techniques for ionization-chamber determination of the amounts of radioactive gases escaping into the lower atmosphere from the earth's surface; in emanometric measurements, the objective is to count, by typical ionization-chamber methods, all of the ions produced by the alpha particles emitted by the one or more radioactive gases contained in the chamber.
