Bugul’ma-Belebei Elevation

 

a flat-terraced, elevated watershed area (elevation between 200 and 400 m) of the interfluve of the Belaia, Kama, and Volga rivers. Located on the territory of the Tatar ASSR, Bashkir ASSR, and Kuibyshev and Orenburg oblasts of the RSFSR. The elevation is composed of limestone, sandstone, and clay; karst clefts and caves occur. The deep valleys of the rivers divide the elevation into a number of ridges. Forest-steppe and steppe landforms prevail. There is a petroleum deposit of the Volga-Ural oil and gas region.
