[From Western Indian vernacular forms of Skr. dhattūra, Datura: e.g. Maraṭhī dhutrā, dhotrā, dialectally dhutrō.] The Thorn-apple, Datura Stramonium, and other Indian species of the genus; a drug or drink prepared from this, employed to produce stupefaction.
