toxic, a. (n.)|ˈtɒksɪk| [f. med.L. toxic-us poisoned, imbued with poison, f. toxic-um. So F. toxique ‘poison’ (1762 in Dict. Trévoux).] A. adj. 1. Of the nature of a poison; poisonous.
