heuchera Bot.|ˈhɔɪkərə| [mod.L., f. the name of J. H. Heucher (1677–1747), German botanist (C. Linnæus Hortus Cliffortianus (1737) 82).] A plant of a large genus of perennial herbs, of the family Saxifragaceæ, native to North America. Hence heucheˈrella, a member of a group of bigeneric hybrids between heuchera and tiarella.
