sangoma, n. (sæŋˈgəʊmə, ‖ saŋˈgɔːma) Also isangoma, (erron.) sangome. [a. Zulu isangoma; cf. Swazi sangoma.] In Southern Africa, a witchdoctor, usu. a woman, claiming supernatural powers of divination and healing.
