Origin: A borrowing from Spanish. Etymon: Spanish mulata.
Etymology: < Spanish mulata (1602), feminine form corresponding to mulato mulatto n.
Now chiefly considered offensive.
A woman with one white and one black parent. Also attributive or as adj.: descended from one white parent and one black parent. Cf. mulatto n.
