Etymology: < ancient Greek πηδητικός springing, leaping, apparently (although attested earlier) < Hellenistic Greek πηδητής dancer + -ικός -ic suffix. Compare pedesis n.
Science. Now rare.
Of or relating to Brownian motion (pedesis). pedetic motion n. (also pedetic movement) Brownian motion.
