Cumenge 1891, in Comptes rendus hebd. de l'Acad. des Sci. 113 519; < bole- (in Boleo , the name of a place near Santa Rosalia, Baja California Sur, Mexico, where both minerals were first found) + -ite -ite suffix¹).

Mineralogy.

A rare secondary mineral occurring as parallel overgrowths of translucent blue crystals on boleite.Pseudoboleite is a hydrated hydroxide and chloride of lead and copper, Pb₅Cu₄Cl₁₀(OH)₈·2H₂O. Crystal system: tetragonal.
