Origin: Of multiple origins. Partly a borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element. Partly formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: Latin redactus , redigere , -ed suffix1; redact v., -ed suffix1.
Etymology: In sense 1 < classical Latin redactus, past participle of redigere (see redact v.) + -ed suffix1. In sense 2 < redact v. + -ed suffix1.
