1927 Mineral. Mag. XXI. 387 Smithsonite (ZnCO3) is also tolerably abundant..and it is in cavities of this smithsonite that the serpierite occurs.
1964 Amer. Mineralogist 49 1145 Devillite and serpierite were identified on the basis of morphology, optics, and microchemical tests.
