单词 | sonata form |
释义 | > as lemmassonata form sonata form n. a structure used in musical composition, which may be analysed as consisting of three sections (exposition, development, and recapitulation) in which the musical possibilities of the thematic material (typically two contrasting themes or subjects) are explored. The sonata form is the basis for much classical music, including individual movements (frequently the first movement) of the sonata, symphony, and concerto. The exploitation and resolution of contrasts between different keys is an important feature of the form. The term is now chiefly used with reference to the structure of an individual movement, but has sometimes been used of the overall structure of a work in more than one movement, comparable to a sonata.
