In words which are the feminine plural of Latin adjectives in -īnus, and in modern Latin words formed on this pattern, used (in agreement with bestiæ beasts, understood) to form names of sub-families of animals, as Caninæ (Latin canīnus canine), Felinæ (Latin felīnus feline).
