单词 unlustly
释义

unlustlyadv.

Origin: Formed within English, by derivation; modelled on a Middle Low German lexical item. Etymons: un- prefix1, lustly adv.
Etymology: < un- prefix1 + lustly adv., after Middle Low German unlustich, use as adverb of unlustich unlusty adj. Compare earlier unlustily adv. and the discussion at that entry. Compare also earlier unlust n.Compare ostensible earlier use as adjective in an isolated attestation; however, this is more likely to show a typographical error for unlusty adj. (compare sense 4 at that entry):1594 tr. Present State Spaine sig. D3v At this present the king of Spaine being of the age of sixty 7. yeares and aboue vnlustly of his person [Fr. mal disposé comme il est de sa personne] (as he is doubtles) seeth himselfe at the period of his subtilties, cannot tel by what meanes to keepe that which he hath purloined from others.
