Chemistry.

An irritant oil present esp. in the shells of cashew nuts and in the fruit of the ginkgo.Chemical name: 5-pentadecylresorcinol; C₁₅H₃₁·C₆H₃(OH)₂.

The compound has also been isolated from a soil streptomycete and shows some antimicrobial activity.
