ICAM2

ICAM2

A gene on chromosome 17q23-q25 that encodes an intercellular adhesion molecule, which, like all ICAMs, is a type-I transmembrane glycoprotein with multiple immunoglobulin-like C2-type domains, and which binds to leukocyte adhesion LFA-1 protein. ICAM2 is involved in lymphocyte recirculation and mediates adhesive interactions critical for antigen-specific immune response, NK-cell mediated clearance, lymphocyte recirculation and other cellular interactions of the immune response and surveillance.
