Barkulabovo Chronicle

(also called Varkolabovo Chronicle), a western Russian chronicle compiled in the early 17th century by Fedor Filippovich, a priest of the small Byelorussian village of Barkulabovo (near the city of Bykhov). It covers the events from 1563 to 1608. The compiler of the Barkulabovo Chronicle showed a deep interest in the life of the people, writing mainly about the daily life and events of the areas surrounding Barkulabovo, Orsha, and Mogilev. The Barkulabovo Chronicle also contains some general material about the Lithuanian and Polish sejms (representative assemblies), about the second false Dmitrii, and other matters.
