Provides access to recreation destinations such as theOuachita National Forest, the Winding Stair National Recreation Area,as well as Cedar Lake Recreation Area.The Ouchita National Forest features more than 700 trails for hiking, backpacking, horsebackriding, and off-road vehicles, including the Ouachita National RecreationTrail, a 194-mile trail that traverses the forest.
Legth: 54 miles including 38-mile section in Oklahoma and 16-mile section in Arkansas. Start/Endpoint: The Oklahoma section runs from 8 miles east of Talihina, OK(at the western border of the Ouchita National Forest) to theOklahoma-Arkansas state line. Time to Allow: 1 hour (Oklahoma section) and 30 minutes (Arkansas section). Designation/Year: National Scenic Byway (2005).
