swinestone|ˈswaɪnstəʊn| [ad. G. schweinstein (see swine and stone n.), = mod.L. lapis suillus.] An early name for anthraconite, a variety of limestone containing bituminous matter, which emits a fetid odour when struck or rubbed; also called stinkstone.
