Cl, chemical symbol for chlorine (see *C III. 3 b) + iodine n. + quinoline n.] A halogenated derivative of quinoline that has been used as an antiseptic to treat mild ear infections, intestinal amoebiasis, diarrhoea, and skin infections; 5-chloro-8-hydroxy-7-iodoquinoline, C9H5NOClI .
