Etymology: In quot. c1450 < post-classical Latin metrificatio (c1470 in a British source) < metrificat- , past participial stem of metrificare (see metrificate v.) + -io -ion suffix1; in later uses < metre n.1 + -ification suffix; compare metrify v.1The post-classical Latin text translated in quot. c1450 does not use metrificatio.
Now rare.
