platillan.

Brit. /pləˈtɪlə/, U.S. /pləˈtɪlə/
Forms: 1600s–1700s platillo, 1700s platillis (plural), 1700s– platilla, 1800s platille.

Etymology: < Spanish platilla (1683 or earlier in this sense; now historical), probably < plata silver (see plate n.) + -illa -illa suffix, with reference to the silvery-white colour of the textile. Compare ( < Spanish) French †platille (1723), Catalan platilla (1704; now historical). With form platillo compare the etymological note at olio n. In form platille probably after the French form.
Now historical.
