hypactic, a. and n. Med.|hɪˈpæktɪk| [ad. Gr. ὑπακτικ-ός, f. ὑπάγειν to carry off below, f. ὑπό hypo- 1 + ἄγειν to lead, carry.] Purgative. Also as n. (see quot. 1823).
