Etymology: < post-classical Latin manation-, manatio effluence (early 5th cent. in medical use; in classical Latin with sense ‘leak’) < classical Latin mānāt- , past participial stem of mānāre to flow, pour, leak (perhaps related to Early Irish móin , Welsh mawn : see Moine n.) + -iō -ion suffix1.
Obsolete.
The action of flowing out; a drainage or discharge.
