Etymology: < Japanese osaekomi-waza < osaekomi immobilization, pinning down, hold-down ( < osae , combining stem of osaeru to press down on + -komi , nominalized stem of -komu to go in) + waza art, technique, skill (see waza-ari n.). Compare osae-waza n.
