Location:Eastern North Carolina, on the coast between Morehead City and New Bern. Accessible by US 17 and 70; NC 24 and 58. Nearby cities/towns include Morehead City, New Bern, and Swansboro.

Special Features:Diverse ecosystems ranging from freshwater pocosins to longleaf pine savannas to salt marsh; Cedar Point Tideland Trail, a short National Recreation Trail that showcases the ecology of an estuary; Neusiok Trail, a 26-mile trek from the Newport River to the Neuse River; White Oak River, with some of the finest blackwater bass fishing in North Carolina.
