Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: off- prefix, print n. and adj.2
Etymology: < off- prefix + print n. and adj.2, after offshoot n. (see quot. 1885 below). Compare Dutch afdruk copy, overdruk offprint, German Separatabdruck offprint.
A separately produced copy of an article, etc., which originally appeared as a part of a larger publication.
