Etymology: < the name of Claude Laurent Pierre Masson (1880–1959), French-born Canadian pathologist who developed the technique (1923 P. Masson in Traité de pathologie médicale et de therapeutique appliquée 27 684).
Histology.
attributive and in the genitive. Designating or relating to a trichrome stain, and associated staining method, used for differentiating between connective tissue fibres and other cell structures.
